About John’s EVs
John’s EVs is a small, independent site of electric vehicle reviews. Every car is scored out of 10 on the same weighted scorecard, so the scores mean the same thing from one review to the next.
Who writes the reviews
John Roberts
John Roberts runs John’s EVs and writes every review on it. He drives each car himself and scores it on the same scorecard, so any two reviews can be compared directly.
How we score
Each car gets a score from 0 to 10 in 7 categories. The overall score is the weighted average of those category scores, using these weights:

The weights only change in a new version of the scorecard, and each review names the version it was scored with (currently Scorecard v1). Because every car goes through the same scorecard, you can put any two or three side by side in the comparison tool.
Independence
No carmaker or dealer pays for a review, a score, or a place on the site. There are no paid placements or sponsored reviews.
Ads help pay for the site. They are labelled “Advertisement” and only load if you accept ads cookies; until then, the ad spaces show the site’s own promos. The privacy notice explains how ads and cookies work here.
Corrections
If something in a review is wrong, such as a spec, a price, or a fact about a car, please email a correction with a link to the page. Factual errors are fixed in the review itself, and if a correction changes a score, the review says so.
